I adore the ground floor of this house on Bavarian Lake Starnberg (near Munich), owned by the enviable Susanne Nobis.
Crowned by a gallery, the open plan lower level houses both a study area (with a huge storage area for books), and a cooking & dining area. Using materials sparingly and economically, to reduce everything to its essential beauty, purpose, & function, the overpowering yet beautiful use of wood and minimal furniture give the house clarity and lightness.
