Things / Breakfast At Tiffany's Edition

I recently attended a Breakfast At Tiffany's charity function. Held at Dolly's Tea Room & Wine Bar, and in aid of the Pink Wiggers, the event comprised of a special screening of the 1960s classic, based on Truman Capote's novella, with a variety of cocktails (served in teapots + teacups), and maple butter popcorn.

The event was also a fancy dress occasion. In true 1960s fashion, I took inspiration from style icon & world-famous supermodel Twiggy, exaggerating my eyes, slicking down my cropped hair, and donning a shift dress.

In celebration of the era, I thought I'd show you a few things I've found which relate to the film & the evening, which includes some small variations on the classics.

I find these just divine, and really need them to feel like Holly Golightly, or as close as I can be, anyway. I can just imagine making cocktails on the wooden chest, wild green nails rummaging through a del rey bag, and slipping lucia sunglasses onto my night owl eyes.

Rings
I'm a sucker for rings. After eight years of wearing them constantly I've learnt to invest in silver - you don't want those ugly green marks! - but I can't help wanting this handshaped wire ring.

Braids
If you didn't know, I have cropped hair - very, very cropped hair. And images like this always make me yearn for long luscious locks...

Red Velvet Cake
My lovely friend Maria has become quite the baker, and after seeing Red Velvet Cakes on our mutual favourite show, Grey's Anatomy, and created by the beautiful Lorraine Pascale, I think these colourful little delights may make an appearance in our home any day now...
